Ex-Obama & Bloomberg aide eyeing run for City Hall
Shaun Donovan, who served in the Obama presidency and the Bloomberg administration, filed paperwork Monday laying the groundwork for a possible mayoral run.
The former federal housing and urban development secretary registered with the city Campaign Finance Board as an “undeclared” candidate for office in 2021, a board spokesman told the Daily News. Donovan also registered a new campaign committee with the state Board of Elections.
“As a lifelong
New Yorker, I’ve committed my life to public service and focused on building opportunity for all communities,” Donovan, 54 , said. “I was proud to serve as secretary of housing and urban development and director of the Office of Management and Budget for President [Barack] Obama, and am actively considering how best to apply my experience on behalf of the city I love.”
