CNN anchor Chris Cuomo revealed Tuesday that he has tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the pandemic infection to the doorstep of one of New York’s most powerful political families.

The 49-year-old younger brother to Gov. Cuomo said in a statement that he recently began experiencing “fever, chills and shortness of breath” after coming in contact with people who have since been diagnosed with COVID-19.

“I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina,” Cuomo wrote in the statement, referring to his wife. “That would make me feel worse than this illness!”

Cuomo (inset) said he will hunker down in his basement and continue doing his daily “Prime Time” show from there.

“Which actually makes the rest of the family seem pleased!” he added, his tongue planted firmly in his cheek.

CNN said Cuomo was last at the network’s Hudson Yards headquarters on Friday and that staff onsite have been informed.

Despite the fresh diagnosis, Cuomo didn’t escape some fraternal teasing from his gubernatorial brother.

“He is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong, not as strong as he thinks, but he will be fine,” Gov. Cuomo said with a grin during his daily COVID-19 briefing from Albany after reporting that New York now has more than 75,000 confirmed cases and at least 1,550 deaths.

The 62-year-old governor also scolded his baby bro for inviting their 88-year-old mother to his Manhattan apartment recently.

“I had a situation with Christopher two weeks ago. My mother was at his house, and I said that is a mistake,” Cuomo said. “If my brother still had my mother at his house, out of love and comfort … we would have a much different situation.”
