‘Myth’ host’s sister alleges sexual abuse

- BY NANCY DILLON

The former host of “Myth-Busters” allegedly sexually abused his younger sister for years, starting when she was 7 years old and he was 9, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Westchester County.

Miranda Savage Pacchiana, 51, claims brother Adam Savage called himself the “raping blob” when he assaulted her “repeatedly” between 1976 and 1979 while they lived together in Sleepy Hollow.

“As a child, this experience shook my sense of safety and crushed my self-confidence,” Pacchiana said during a video news conference Tuesday. “I will never wake up one morning and stop being a survivor of child rape.”

Savage, 52, denied the allegations in a statement issued by his lawyer Andrew Brettler.

“While I hope that my sister gets the help she needs to find peace, this needs to end. For many years, she has relentlessly and falsely attacked me and other members of my family to anyone who will listen,” Savage (inset) said.

“By spreading numerous untrue stories about us in pursuit of a financial bonanza, she has tortured our entire family and estranged herself from all of us. I will fight this groundless and offensive lawsuit and work to put this to rest once and for all.”

Brettler released a followup statement from Karen Savage, the mother of Adam and Miranda. “It makes me very sad to say this, but my daughter suffers from severe mental health challenges, and it’s devastating that she’s putting Adam and our entire family through this,” she said. “Adam is a good man, and I support him completely.”

According to the complaint filed in Westchester County Supreme Court, Pacchiana claims Savage would prevent her from leaving her bed and “repeatedly rape [her] and force oral sex upon her.”

Pacchiana’s lawyer Jordan Merson said Tuesday his client “has been deeply affected, [and] has suffered significant emotional distress and psychological and psychiatric injuries.”
