“I hate it, man. It’s very sad to see and it puts me in a weird place. But we can only do everything we can to move forward and hopefully make changes and take the right steps in that direction.”

Now, the Long Island native is focused on the present. This season could be righty’s last in a Mets uniform. Stroman is set to enter free agency this offseason, though he said that particular phase of his career is not weighing on his mind.

“I’ve been playing year-to-year essentiall­y my entire career,” he said.
