ESPN’s Wojnarowski suspended after email
ESPN has suspended NBA scoop merchant Adrian Wojnarowski for his two-word email to GOP Sen. Josh Hawley, according to multiple reports.
An ESPN spokesperson declined to confirm or deny that Wojnarowski was suspended, but it’s reportedly expected to last 1-2 weeks, according to the Washington Post.
Wojnarowski acknowleged that he wrote “F—k you” in response to an email to Hawley’s office on Friday. The original email from Hawley was trolling the NBA over China and race-baiting its players over Black Lives Matter.
Woj apologized and ESPN put out a statement reprimanding him, even though Hawley said Friday that he didn’t want an apology. ESPN does have a strict “stick to sports” policy for its talent, although the pandemic and protests had seemingly stretched that policy.
