Boy, 14, stabbed in Bx. attack

- BY WES PARNELL AND THOMAS TRACY

A 14-year-old teen was stabbed and beaten up in a harrowing Bronx street attack caught on camera.

The young victim was on Soundview Ave. near Story Ave. in Soundview around 5 p.m. on July 30 when two suspects pounced, cops said.

A nine-second video taken by a witness shows one suspect, with a knife in his hand punching and stomping on the victim as he huddled on the ground, while a second suspect runs across the street.

The attackers (inset) ran off towards the nearby NYCHA Monroe Houses, police said.

Stunned witnesses called 911 reporting that the victim was being chased by a Hispanic male. When medics arrived, they found the victim in the street and took him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries.

When he recovered, the teen didn’t cooperate with investigators, police sources said.

Residents and store owners near the Monroe Houses were also hesitant to speak, claiming that they could be targets if they talked about the attack or other acts of violence in the area.

“It’s very tough, even I worry about myself here,” said one merchant, who said he was trained in karate. “It’s not safe, there’s too much s—-.”

Most of the offenders are teens, the merchant said.

“They came and started messing with my stuff and I had to be firm and show them that I’m a karate man and show them that, ‘Boys, you can’t fight with me,’ ” he said.

“When kids are doing things, then that means the parents aren’t doing the right thing,” he said.

Anyone with information about this incident was urged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
