Four young men were wounded, one critically, after a gunman emerged from a Queens housing development and opened fire with eight rounds Tuesday afternoon, police sources said.

The men were sitting at two concrete chess tables outside the Ravenswood Houses on 21st St. at 35th Ave. in Astoria just before 4:45 p.m., drinking Red Bull and gin from coffee cups, when the hail of bullets erupted, police sources said.

The shooter hit one victim, 21, in the face; two more, 17 and 18, in the back, and the fourth, 19, in the knee, cop sources said. The man who was shot in the face was in critical condition, sources said.

One of the victims staggered to 21st St., leaving a trail of blood behind him, before he collapsed. Another

managed to escape the scene and sought treatment at a nearby hospital.

One witness, who lives in the building where the shooter emerged, said he looked out his window after hearing the rattle of gunfire.

“There were people sitting there, but by the time we got to the window, everyone was gone, but there was one guy just lying there,” the witness said. “His friends came back and surrounded him. They were trying to see if they could help him.”

He added, When the cops turned him over, there was a moan.”

Police believe the shooting was gang-related, and were looking at whether it was connected to a dispute between the Ravenswood Houses and the Queensbridge House, sources said.

Cops were looking for a dark-colored Jeep or SUV that fled the scene.
