Ice Cube rips CNN, Chris Cuomo

- BY NELSON OLIVEIRA

A fiery Ice Cube blasted CNN on Thursday after he said the network canceled his appearance on Chris Cuomo’s show, a move that came just two days after the hip-hop star confirmed that he’s advising President Trump’s administration on a plan for Black America.

“So the POWERS that be cancelled my interview on @ CuomoPrimeTime tonight,” he tweeted. “I’ve actually been (banned) from @CNN for a few months so I was surprised they even asked. But it seems like they can’t handle the truth.”

The former N.W.A. star, who once rapped about arresting Trump, is under fire this week for taking an active role in the president’s so-called “Platinum Plan,” a new initiative aimed at winning over Black Americans. Critics and disappointed Ice Cube fans lashed out at the rapper’s decision, with some accusing him of “working with the Darkside.”

It’s unclear why CNN canceled the interview and whether it had actually banned him from appearing on its shows. The network did not return a request for comment.

Ice Cube (inset) said he offered to meet with both presidential campaigns to discuss plans for Black communities in America and to ask support for his Contract with Black America plan. Both parties contacted him, he said, but Joe Biden’s team said they would address the plan “after the election.”

The 51-year-old star, who once said he would “never endorse a motherf—-a like Donald Trump,” denied supporting either candidate and said he would advise “anybody on the planet who has the power to help Black Americans close the enormous wealth gap.”

“Every side is the Darkside for us here in America,” he tweeted. “They’re all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can’t afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change.
