A doting Brooklyn dad was fatally shot in the head in his apartment building just minutes after he turned 34 early Wednesday, police said.

Marvin “Curtis” Carroway was gunned down in the lobby of a Howard Houses building where he lived on Sutter Ave. in Brownsville — with police reporting they got a call for help at 12:02 a.m.

Just two hours before he was slain, Carroway was on Facebook Live celebrating his birthday with friends.

“My b-day is tomorrow,” he says as he drinks from a champagne bottle and grooves to rap music.

“I’m chilling bro, like I didn’t even get to pull up and go to the city yet. I ain’t do nothing, I ain’t even leave,” he says. “I’m just having a good time. I respect everybody. Just respect me. That’s all I care about.”

Medics rushed Carroway to Brookdale University Hospital but he could not be saved.

There were no immediate arrests.

On Tuesday morning, Carroway posted a picture of himself on Facebook with his beloved little girl.

“Always a father first so proud of my baby mouse first day back to school enjoy my love,” he wrote. “Daddy will be there to pick you up.”

Ninety minutes later, he posted a reminder that Wednesday was his birthday.

After his slaying, his heartbroken brother, David Carroway, lamented the devastating loss.

“I love you I wish I could just get a hug from you rite now I know you hear me!! I need you to tell me this is a dream and everything will be OK,” the brother posted on Facebook. “I can’t stop crying.”

A friend of his described him as a role model, someone who was always willing to spot a pal some cash or offer some advice.

“He tried to show people the way. He tried to show people his way so he could lead all people,” said the friend, who gave his first name, Lorenzo.

“Somebody took him on his birthday. That’s what’s really sad about it. People get shot different days, but then again, we lost somebody who was a real person, a real person with a life who helped get people right.”

Lorenzo knew the tragic dad by his nickname, “Hustle.”

“His son is a spitting image of him. That was like his twin right there,” he said. “Now his role model isn’t there. It’s sad.”

The bloodshed comes amid a continued surge in violence around the city. Housing projects have been hit particularly hard; homicides on NYCHA property are up 37% this year through Sunday, compared with the same period last year.

Shootings have nearly doubled on NYCHA property — with 268 as of Sunday, compared with 137 in the same time frame last year.
