Prepare for a showdown on Jan. 20

-

RI hope the future administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris is preparing for the eventuality that Trump doesn’t leave office in January when he is supposed to. First of all, when has he ever done what he is supposed to? He has fractured all the norms of the presidency. When he first came into office, he was uncomfortable with all the constraints he had to deal with, but when he realized that he can just do whatever he wants and no one will stop him, he became comfortable in the role.

Now he doesn’t want to leave, and he continues to contest the results of the vote counts, even though no fraud has been found.

If he decides to stay in the presidency — and he has already fired the armed services chiefs of staff who would be able to mobilize the armed forces to make him leave — who will have the power to force him to leave? He already has almost half the country on his side. Absent a very few, the Republicans are on his side, agreeing that the vote count was somehow illegal and that the election was rigged.

I just hope that Biden and Harris have some kind of plan to get him out of there when his term is over, otherwise our whole country will be in big trouble!

Don’t cut ’Mutts’

The only reason I buy the Daily News is for the comic “Mutts,” and if I don’t see it back in the comics immediately, I will be buying the Post.

Please don’t tell me the Daily News has dropped my favorite comic strip, “Mutts!” It is nowhere to be found. Trade you “Wumo” for “Mutts” any day! Herb Stark
