MTA worker nabbed in siege
An MTA worker charged with taking part in the deadly mob at the U.S. Capitol last week was arrested by federal law enforcement in the Hudson Valley on Tuesday, federal officials said.
Will Pepe (inset), a laborer at Metro-North’s railyard in Brewster, is due to appear in White Plains Federal Court on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The charges against him were not immediately disclosed.
Pepe was photographed inside the Capitol after it was overtaken by insurrectionists attempting to stop Congress from certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s election, oofficials said last week.
Pepe called in sick the dday of the riot, which left fifive people dead. The Metrropolitan Transportation AAuthority suspended him withoutw pay on Friday. “Pepe, 31, lives in Beacon and is a registered Republican, public records show.
