Body cam shows stunning stab in neck

An NYPD cop was stabbed in the neck by an erratic Brooklyn woman inside her home, police body camera video shows.

Cops showed up to Marielee Jimenez’s Sunset Park home on Sixth Ave. around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday after getting a 911 call about an emotionally disturbed person at the address, police said.

Jimenez, 29, was acting erratically when cops entered the apartment. As they tried to calm her down, she grabbed a blade and lunged at the officer, cutting his neck.

Video of the incident, caught on another officer’s body camera, shows Jimenez holding the weapon above her head (photo). She brings the blade down as one officer slowly approaches and tries to take her into custody.

Medics took the officer to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Jimenez was charged with assault, weapons possession, menacing and resisting arrest. Her arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending Thursday.

“We’re lucky that our @NYPD72Pct member will fully recover after being stabbed in the neck,” the Police Benevolent Association tweeted with a six-second clip of the attack.

“This is the reality of how quickly a mental health call can go sideways. Too many of our politicians underestimate these dangers when they call to eliminate cops.”

In November, Mayor de Blasio announced a pilot program aimed at replacing the NYPD with teams of mental health experts and EMS staffers to answer calls about emotionally disturbed residents.
