Brag by ex-Finest’s brother

- BY STEPHEN REX BROWN

A suburban New York Donald Trump supporter who stormed the U.S. Capitol wrote friends not to worry about his safety because “I’ll be with ex NYPD and some proud boys,” court papers charge.

Chris Kelly, the brother of a retired NYPD cop, was slapped Thursday with charges of disrupting Congress, trespassing and disorderly conduct during the Jan. 6 riots.

“This will be the most historic event of my life,” he wrote online, according to prosecutors.

An affidavit by an FBI agent does not identify Kelly’s brother, but suggests the ex-cop was present outside the Capitol.

Kelly, who lives in New City in Rockland County, a town 18 miles from New York City, wrote a Facebook user that his brother had taken a photo of him posing shirtless in front of the Capitol with an American flag, according to the affidavit.

In another exchange, he explained the symbolism of his picture holding the Stars and Stripes.

“My brother was a cop explained it as a robbery. You arrest the criminal after they commit the crime not before,” Kelly allegedly wrote.

“Taking this back by force now, no more bs,” Kelly allegedly added. “F--- these snakes. Out of OUR HOUSE!”

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said earlier this month that the NYPD was investigating an active member of the department

in connection with the Capitol riot. Further details of that inquiry have not been revealed. More than 100 people have been arrested in connection with the Capitol mayhem that left five dead.

In the day leading up to the riot, Kelly wrote “enough of the keyboard warrior BS,” urging others to join.

“Im fed up of the BS - Im going to DC on the 5th staying two nights. Not worried about Antifa pricks, im going with a couple of old school Patriots,” he messaged a friend, according to court papers.

One Facebook friend told Kelly to “Stay safe, Antifa will be out in force.”

“No worries, I’ll be with ex NYPD and some proud boys,” Kelly allegedly replied.

Numerous Proud Boys, who describe themselves as Western hauvinists, have been arrested n connection with the riots. The group supported President Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the election.

A Facebook friend who was nable to make the trip gave Kelly self-defense tips.

“Stay alert down there, and if someone gets in your face, a knife hand chop to the neck DROPS a motherf---er faster than a punch in the face. Can be the jugular or windpipe. And those douchebag helmets dont protect the commies’ necks,” the user wrote.

“Awesome thanks for the advice,” Kelly replied. “Yea my head will be on a swivel for sure.”

Kelly was released without bail after his initial appearance in White Plains Federal Court Thursday.
