Lowlife robs woman, then tries to rape her
A man robbed a woman in Queens, then tried to rape her before a Good Samaritan scared him off, police said.
The 58-year-old victim was on 92nd St. near 89th Ave. in Woodhaven about 6:30 p.m. on Friday when the suspect grabbed her from behind and shoved her to the ground.
Flashing a knife, the man in his 30s mounted the woman and robbed her of $5, cops said.
He covered her mouth with his hand, told her not to scream and proceeded to pull her pants down, biting her exposed left hip, police said.
When a man on a passing scooter saw what was happening and rolled up to the two, the would-be rapist ran off, police said.
Medics took the woman to Jamaica Hospital for treatment.
Cops on Saturday released surveillance images (photo) of the accused attacker. He’s described as a light-skinned man with black hair and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a black shirt, black pants and black shoes and was sporting a black backpack.
Anyone with information should call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
