2 wounded in Harlem assaults

- Thomas Tracy

One man was shot and another was slashed in separate attacks in Harlem, officials said Wednesday.

The violence began about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when a 17-year-old boy was slashed in the neck outside the St. Nicholas Houses on W. 127th St. near Frederick Douglass Blvd., cops said.

Medics rushed the teen Harlem Hospital, where he expected to survive.

The victim was walking down W. 127th St. when he was confronted by two teens he had an earlier argument with, officials said. One of the rivals whipped out a scalpel and cut the teen’s neck as they fought.

Six hours later and six blocks away, a 22-year-old man was shot in the buttocks during a fight with two men inside the Yummy Deli at Frederick Douglass Blvd. and W. 131st St.

Medics rushed the victim to Harlem Hospital with a minor wound.

No arrests have been made in either case. to is
