“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” is going to add a little bounce to the May movie schedule — and a sign that life is getting back to normal.

The sequel has moved its release up by a month and will arrive in theaters on May 14, Sony said Wednesday.

Originally slated to come out in early 2020, “Peter Rabbit 2” experienced multiple release date changes thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most recently, the family film starring James Corden was scheduled for June 11 this year, but the date was pushed up as more theaters reopen. Movie houses in New York are set to reopen this Friday for the first time in nearly a year.

Corden returns to voice Peter Rabbit in the movie, which also stars Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie.

The first “Peter Rabbit” film grossed more than $350 million worldwide in 2018. The sequel will be directed by Will Gluck.

The studio’s description of the film reads in part: “Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated.
