Nabbed in death of mom’s beau on S.I.

A New Jersey man has been busted for shooting his mother’s beau to death on a Staten Island sidewalk earlier this month.

Ishawn Bryant, 21, surrendered to police Tuesday for the March 4 killing of 43-year-old Kenton Smith on Bay St. near Victory Blvd.

Law enforcement sources said Smith and Bryant’s mother had a child in common, and the younger man wasn’t happy with the way the victim was treating his mother.

Bryant shot Smith several times in the chest as he stood outside a deli just about 11:50 a.m. He was awaiting arraignment in Staten Island Criminal Court.

Bryant’s lawyer, Mario Gallucci, said he arranged for the Elizabeth, N.J., man to turn himself in.
