assailant’s attention. That is where the video cuts off as the attacker crossed the street to him,” Elizabeth wrote.

“To this person, I understand your decision in remaining anonymous during this time. I want to THANK YOU for stepping in and doing the right thing.”

The video released by police ends with a doorman at 360 W. 43rd St. closing the door after seeing Vilma Kari on the ground and her batterer walking away.

The Brodsky Organization, which owns the building, said Wednesday that a longer video clip shows two workers in the lobby went outside to flag down a cop.

Elliot was nabbed for the hate crime at the Four Points by Sheraton, a hotel-turned-homeless-shelter on W. 40th St. — just a few blocks away, police said. He was among the homeless men housed by the city at the hotel.

Elliot was released from prison on lifetime parole in November 2019 after serving 17 years for fatally stabbing his mother. He is charged with three counts of assault as a hate crime and was remanded without the option to post bail at his arraignment Wednesday.

His Legal Aid lawyers asked the public to “reserve judgment” until all the facts are present- ed in court.

Police Commis- sioner Dermot Shea said detec- tives were backtracking Elliot’s movements over the past several

days to see if he was responsible for any other crimes in the Manhattan neighborhood.

Attacks on Asian-Americans have continued to skyrocket nationwide. Locally, the NYPD has seen 31 hate crimes against people of Asian descent this year — a staggering spike from the 11 that were reported last year.

Vilma Kari’s mysterious white knight has yet to make himself known, but she and her daughter hope they to find out his identity.

“His gesture of action is what we need in our world right now,” Elizabeth wrote. “I hope one day my mom and I can thank you personally.”
