GAMES OF THE WEEK

-

MEN’S FINAL FOUR SATURDAY, CBS HOUSTON VS. BAYLOR, 5:14 P.M. UCLA VS. GONZAGA, 8:34 P.M.

It is the most exciting weekend in sports. And more than ever, we welcome its arrival.

The Final Four is here once again. And it’s especially important to us this year because of what happened last year, or make that, what didn’t happen. In the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, last season’s event was called off. In fact, the entire NCAA Tournament was bagged.

So we will take great pleasure in sitting back and taking it all in on Saturday and Monday.

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that no matter the matchup, expect to be excited and surprised. We could tell you that the first game between No. 2 Houston and No. 1 Baylor will be the better of the two semifinals, but there’s a chance we would be wrong.

Just because top-seeded Gonzaga is a heavy favorite over No. 11 UCLA does not mean it will play out that way. After all, this is UCLA we’re talking about, and this is the Final Four. Expect the unexpected.

Who would have expected the Bruins to have gotten this far, after all? But here they are, with a chance to hand Gonzaga its first loss of the season.

Speaking of the Zags, they are looking to become the first undefeated champ since Indiana did it in 1975-76. That’s a lot of pressure they’ll be taking into these games.

No matter what happens, it will happen. And after the year we’ve all had, that is something to be happy about.
