Rigged reviews

Haverstraw, N.Y.: The go-ahead for an environmental review to approve congestion pricing in Manhattan will show no negative effects on the air. How do I know this, you may ask? Another environmental review was initiated prior to app-based companies like Uber adding 6,000 vehicles a month to the roads in Manhattan. It stated that there would be no negative effects to the environment in Manhattan! Pre-pandemic, app-based Uber-like companies succeeded in adding more than 130,000 new automobiles on the streets of Manhattan, all registered with the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. Since then, any environmental review now morphs into another standard procedure without merit, to accomplish what certain politicians want, using the guise of the environment as a ploy. When politicians get their review, I hope they at least have the decency to exempt yellow taxis from any congestion pricing fees. The city has already collected billions of dollars in medallion auction “fees” and this is one way to pay them back. David Pollack

QAnon, et al. commit hate crimes against Asian-American and Pacific Islanders, but studies have shown the majority of hate crimes against AAPI are committed by Black and Brown perpetrators. And to worsen his lack of PC, he fails to self-censor (as one would with “N-word”) and spells out a slur against AAPI (“g—k”).
