A gunman shot and killed one person and injured five others Thursday afternoon at a cabinet-making business in Bryan, Texas, before leading cops on a manhunt that resulted in a state trooper also being shot.

The first shots were fired around 2:30 p.m., and a male suspect was arrested about two hours later, police said.

Four of the five injured victims were in critical condition Thursday evening at a local hospital.

The shooting happened at the sprawling complex of Kent Moore Cabinets, about 5 miles northwest of Texas A&M University, the Bryan Police Department said. The shots were fired in the bays where employees make cabinets.

The shooter fled the scene before police arrived, but authorities tracked him to the small town of Iola, about 20 miles to the northeast.

While on the run, the suspect shot a Texas state trooper, the Texas Department of Public Safety said. The trooper was in serious but stable condition.

The suspect has been identified only as an employee of Kent Moore Cabinets. Police did not publicly theorize about his motive.

No victims had been identified.

A seventh victim at Kent Moore Cabinets suffered an asthma attack during the shooting, the Bryan-College Station Eagle reported. That person was also hospitalized.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he and his wife Cecilia “are praying for the victims and their families and for the law enforcement officer injured while apprehending the suspect.”

Two brothers in Allen, Texas., a Dallas suburb, gunned down four of their family members Monday before dying by suicide, according to police.

Cops said the two made a suicide pact before the bloodbath.

“Gun control in the U.S. is a joke,” one brother wrote a note. “Thanks for making the process so easy.”
