Teachout nod for progressive Morales

Mayoral candidate Dianne Morales is getting some extra wind in her sails, thanks to a new endorsement from local lefty icon Zephyr Teachout.

Teachout announced her backing of Morales, one of the most progressive candidates in the race, on Tuesday.

Teachout, a law professor who previously mounted an activist-style primary challenge to Gov. Cuomo, praised Morales’ “vision” and experience running prominent nonprofit Phipps Neighborhoods.

“We need a champion of tenants, not big real estate” Teachout said in a statement.
