- Thomas Tracy and Rocco Parascandola

A mugger bashed a woman in the head inside a Manhattan subway station before making off with her laptop computer, startling surveillance video released by cops shows.

The victim had just exited an L train at the First Ave. station on E. 14th St. in the East Village and was walking toward the MetroCard machines with her cell phone out when the crook came up from behind her about 5:55 p.m. Sunday, police said.

He dropped his own bag to the ground and sucker-punched her from behind in the head, sending her toppling to the floor, the video shows.

“Give me your bag!” the crook (photo) screamed as he ripped her backpack off her while she was down. The backpack contained the victim’s MacBook Air and debit and credit cards, cops said.

The woman suffered a bruise to her head but declined medical attention.

Cops are asking for the public’s help identifying the attacker and tracking him down.

He was described as about 30, 5-feet-5 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black winter hat, light-colored scarf, red-and-black jacket, blue shorts and blue sandals.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
