A man shot on a Brooklyn streetcorner along with a friend died the next day, police said Tuesday.

Surveillance video viewed by cops shows victim Lequan Jackson and his pal fighting with the killer, who pulled out a gun and opened fire, at Flatbush Ave. and Beverley Road in East Flatbush about 1 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Jackson, 43, was shot in the head and upper body, and was rushed to Kings County Hospital. He died there Monday after he was taken off life support.

The 45-year-old man with him was struck in the left arm and right thigh and was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Brooklyn Methodist and was in stable condition.

The gunman got away in a black Infiniti and was still being sought as cops tried to determine what the clash was about.

Jackson had three prior arrests, though it wasn’t immediately clear what the charges were. His wounded friend had an arrest record that included a murder charge in 2003, police said.

Jackson was about 1½ miles from his Albany Ave.home when he was shot.

“He was very friendly, religious, would go to church on Sundays,” said Millionard Zamor, 31, whose brother owns the house where Jackson has lived since 2014. “He took very good care of his son.”

Zamor said the news of Jackson’s death “shocked” him, and that he last saw him about a week ago.

“I still can’t believe it,” he said. “I feel like just the other day, we were making jokes, talking about life. He was telling me about what it’s like having kids and being disciplined.”

Both victims were initially expected to survive.

The shooting kicked off a spate of bloodshed across Brooklyn and Manhattan early Sunday that saw four other people shot and wounded over the course of 2½ hours.

Zamor lamented the bloodshed. “Because of COVID, small businesses aren’t doing well, the economy’s not doing well,” he said. “They need to put more cops on the street, they need to put like one or two cops on each street.”
