Man robbed in Brooklyn building lobby
A Brooklyn man was savagely mugged by a thief who put him in a headlock, threw him around like a rag doll and swiped his wallet, police said Wednesday.
Startling surveillance video released by cops shows the crook grabbing the 69-year-old man by the neck and hurling him to the floor inside the lobby of an Eastern Parkway apartment building in Crown Heights at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim told the Daily News he was on the way home from the bank when he was attacked and he believes the man knew that and followed him.
“He made off with my wallet and ran away before I could get a good look at him,” said the man, whose face was bruised and scratched.
Cops are asking the public’s help identifying and tracking down the assailant.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
