Stranger stabs man with fork as victim shopped in Chelsea
A man shopping in Manhattan was stabbed with a fork by a stranger in an unprovoked attack, police said Wednesday.
The 50-year-old victim was inside the Salvation Army store on Eighth Ave. near W. 21st St. in Chelsea when a bearded man approached him about
2:30 p.m. April 10 and began peppering him with bizarre questions, police sources said.
“What are you doing here?” the man asked insistently. “What are you doing?”
The victim ignored the man and paid for his items but the assailant followed him outside and stabbed him in the arm with a fork before running off.
Medics treated the victim at the scene.
Cops released surveillance images of the suspect and asked the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down. He was wearing a black sweatshirt emblazoned with the logo “CF718 BSC.”
