The body of a Brooklyn man reported missing in early April was discovered last week wrapped in a tarp alongside a Bayonne, N.J. highway, authorities said Wednesday.

The remains of Jose Rivera, 41, were found along Route 440 on April 27, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Police searched the location after receiving a report about a body wrapped in a tarp, officials said. Cops then located the remains, which were later identified as Rivera.

Rivera was reported missing on April 12, the NYPD said. He was last seen around Linden St. and Kickerbocker Ave. in Bushwick.

A poster distributed in the neighborhood and attributed to a sister says Rivera was “beaten badly” at an address nearby.

The NYPD is investigating along with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, officials said. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
