Killed by truck after crash with car

A driver who got into a fender bender with another motorist on the Long Island Expressway was killed moments later when an oncoming FedEx cargo truck slammed into his idling vehicle, officials said Wednesday.

Suffolk County police said 29-year-old Stephen Neville’s Honda collided with a Nissan on the eastbound LIE as both cars veered toward the Exit 60 ramp in Ronkonkoma about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Honda came to a stop in the center lane while the Nissan, driven by Xavier Rodriguez, 19, ended up on the exit ramp. Neither man was injured and both briefly got out of their cars to check the damage, authoritie­s said.

Suffolk County police said. The Lake Ronkonkoma resident died at the scene.

Rodriguez, who lives in Centereach, was treated for minor injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital.

The driver of the cargo truck, Naim Khan, 29, of Richmond Hill, Queens, was not injured.

No charges were immediatel­y filed.
