Targets of NYPD ‘hit-job cop’ push to keep her held until sentencing

- BY NOAH GOLDBERG

Two people allegedly targeted for death by “murder-for-hire” NYPD cop Valerie Cincinelli don’t want to see her out of jail before she’s sentenced this fall.

Cincinelli’s ex-husband and the teenage daughter of her paramour — both of whom she was making plans to have whacked — told a judge that they’d like the ex-officer to stay behind bars until her October sentencing.

The two alleged murder targets “vehemently oppose” Cincinelli’s release on bail, Brooklyn Federal Judge Joanna Seybert wrote this week in an order denying Cincinelli’s request for bail.

Seybert determined that Cincinelli still poses a risk of flight and a danger to the community if released.

“We are disappointed in the court’s decision,” said James Kousouros, Cincinelli’s lawyer. “While the court denied our motion for bail ... we are confident that the facts as set forth in our submission will be taken into consideration at the time of sentencing.”

Cincinelli is set to be sentenced on Oct. 29.

Cincinelli pleaded guilty in April to obstruction of justice — not the murder-forhire charges she initially was indicted for

— and faces over five years in prison after admitting to deleting text messages related to the plot to have her ex-husband Isaiah Carvalho and her new boyfriend’s daughter murdered.

The feds accused her of cooking up the murderous scheme with her boyfriend John DiRubba, who eventually gave evidence of the plot to law enforcement.

DiRubba, cooperating with the feds, played along with Cincinelli, letting her believe he’d hired an assassin for $7,000 who would perform both hits, prosecutors claimed.

The murders never happened, and Cincinelli has been locked up at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since her arrest in 2019.
