Obvious omission

Wantagh, L.I.: In a recent article about another Asian-American person being attacked (“Bigot hits woman with water bottle,” July 19), once again, the Daily News doesn’t mention the perpetrator’s race. The photo of the suspect shows she’s clearly either Black or dark-skinned Hispanic. Since the start of the pandemic, far too many Asian people have come under attack, both physically and verbally. In most of these attacks, the perpetrator or perpetrators are people of color. Can someone please explain to me why The News ignores this fact? When police are trying to apprehend the correct perpetrator, the perp’s race must come into play. There is nothing discriminatory about that at all. Anthony Smith
