Self-imposed crisis
Manhattan: Why are shootings still making news? Gun deaths and injuries are the price we pay for our freedom to interpret the Second Amendment to mean that every wacko with a grudge has a right to grab as many guns as they can, regardless of their mental or emotional condition. Let’s face it — it’s not news. And prayers won’t do anything about it. Until Congress gets serious and makes guns difficult to buy and trade, people (including lots of kids) are going to be injured and killed, and we might as well get used to it as long as Republicans remain willing enablers of the NRA.
