Syosset, L.I.: The Yankees’ COVID situation is a microcosm for a society facing antivaccination absurdity. The notion that people declining an obviously advisable health imperative as a perfectly fine choice for themselves in their own personal lives is fallacious. Getting this preventable disease is not only your problem. It’s a problem for Aaron Judge’s teammates, who no longer have the benefit of his services. It’s a problem for everyone affected by canceled games, to say nothing of every child with whom he comes into contact who’s too young to get the vaccine. The choice to not be vaccinated is not some personal choice that I have to respect merely because it’s yours to make. It’s an irresponsible, irrational and selfish choice that needlessly hurts others. Drew Oringer
