Don’t leave us behind
Brooklyn: Revel’s decision to introduce non-accessible taxis into the New York City market isn’t a step forward as the company might claim. While electric vehicles are welcome here, taxis that exclude people who use wheelchairs aren’t — and that’s exactly what Revel is bringing to the city’s streets. Shame on them. There’s a smarter approach. New York City, along with Revel, Tesla or other companies should take the lead in introducing a wheelchair-accessible electric taxi to the market. That way, we’ll breathe easier and have access for all at the same time.
