The 10th installment of “The Fast and the Furious” series will race into theaters in 2023.

Universal has set an April 7, 2023, release date for “Fast & Furious 10,” the penultimate film in the “Fast” saga, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Justin Lin-directed action flick was originally slated to open April 2 of this year, but was replaced by “F9: The Fast Saga” due to COVID-19 pandemic delays.

The North America release of “F9” was later pushed back to June 25 of this year. With its $70 million opening, the latest movie set a new box-office record. To date, it has grossed more than $170 million in the U.S. and over $500 million worldwide.

But 2023 is when the “Fast” car-and-crime saga is expected to be bled out some more.

Lin, who helmed Parts 3 through 6, as well as the most recent “F9,” is onboard to return to direct the 10th and 11th installments.

The cast has yet to be revealed, but franchise superstar Vin Diesel is expected to return, along with Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez.

Dwayne Johnson isn’t set to return to the franchise due to reported friction with Diesel. It remains to be seen whether John Cena will reprise his role as Jakob Toretto, the previously unmentioned brother of Diesel’s leading character.

“The Fast and the Furious,” premiered June 22, 2001.

The franchise ranks as the seventh-highest-grossing film series of all time, with a combined gross of more than $6 billion.
