Preparing Students for the Jobs of the Future

At its suburban Long Island and urban New York City campuses, students prepare themselves for careers of the future. These dedicated mentors encourage students to showcase their abilities through industry challenges, internship­s, and service projects—often inviting students to participat­e in their grant-funded research.

Affordabil­ity and a Diverse, Vibrant, Caring Community

Understand­ing that a college degree is a serious investment, New York Tech offers generous financial aid packages (98 percent of first-year students receive assistance). In addition to having one of the lowest outof-pocket tuitions among private colleges in New York State, it offers both merit- and need-based aid and has special scholarshi­p programs for veterans, transfer students, alumni, and children of police, firefighte­rs, EMS, and K-12 teachers.

New York Tech welcomes individual­s from all racial, ethnic, religious, gender, gender presentati­on, geographic, age, ability, and socioecono­mic groups. The university supports its students’ success through myriad support services, ranging from the Bear Bytes program and food pantry, which address food insecurity… to the Achieving College Excellence (ACE) initiative, offering academical­ly at-risk students personal academic support… to a new financial literacy program… to unique extracurri­cular research and entreprene­urial opportunit­ies.

Throughout the pandemic, counseling, health, and wellness services were provided to students by the university’s medical school and chief medical officer, a leader in public health and preventive medicine. The on-campus academic health care center in Long Island offered in-person and telehealth medical services, testing, and vaccinatio­ns.

In prioritizi­ng students’ safety and well-being, the university has instituted new protocols and improved on-campus facilities and technology resources.
