Clark, Charlotte L
A memorial service and gathering will be held 1pm Sat. Oct. 16 for
Charlotte L. Clark, who passed away peacefully in her Jamaica, Queens apartment Oct. 2, 2021 at the age of 81.
The church - Hollis Woods Memorial, at 82-06 Bell Blvd. - will be well ventilated, but C-19 vaccination and masks are encouraged. Her cremains will be present along with pictures from her life.
Charlotte was born the daughter of Robert Sands Clark and Margaret Flick Clark in Jamaica, Queens in 1940. She earned her bachelors degree at Simpson College in Iowa, then returned to N.Y. for her masters at C.W. Post to become a children's librarian with the Queens Public Library system. She was beloved by co-workers and children alike at the many branches over her long career.
Charlotte also connected deeply with her church and her book club, and most
buoying in her later years was the camaraderie and caring she found with her community neighbors where she resided
for 50 years.
Charlotte was generous hearted, good humored and worldly minded, loved history and family ancestry, books, children, and cats, although she never had either of the latter two. She also enjoyed watching Mets games - a passion she shared with her late younger brother Robert B. Clark.
She is survived by her nieces: Carla M. Clark and Annette A. Kimball, and was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the Queens Public Library, The International Children's Fund, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, or any charity of your choosing especially helping children or animals.
