Bagga. The latter believes that New Yorkers live in a police state. He believes in decriminalizing all drugs. Just what we need — more druggies shooting up on the West Side. Nevertheless, Hochul states that she does not believe in defunding the police. Words are cheap. Actions define you. She ordered the release of 191 Rikers inmates. Those still left on Rikers Island after all the previous releases are the most hardened inmates. They are not there for shoplifting or disorderly conduct. For Hochul to say it’s not fair that they are incarcerated over parole violations belies the true-crime records of those inmates.
