Not so bad

Bronx: Just want to thank Voicer Peter Magnotta for his spot-on analysis of the actual effect that rising gas prices are having on the average American. I have been thinking all along that comparing price increases (of everything) to 2020 is misleading and not really giving an accurate picture of where we are now. My husband and I were in Florida for the first half of 2020. You could get a gallon of regular for as low as $1.59. No one was going anywhere, oil was down to $20 a barrel, WTI futures were trading below $0 — they were giving it away. 2020 was an unusual year. If you look at the history, gas prices were higher in 2012-2014 than they are now. We need to look at these issues with a clear head and not let every issue be guided by the bias in our hearts.
