Man shot dead on Bronx street

A 41-year-old man was shot dead on a Bronx street early Monday, police said.

Police said the killer walked by the victim on Andrews Ave. near W. 183rd St. in University Heights just past midnight and shot him in the head.

“I just heard one shot,” said a neighbor who declined to give her name. “Someone yelled, ‘Yo, why’d you do that?’ and then I heard men arguing.”

She looked out her window to see a dark-colored Dodge Charger driving away. The victim died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

“This block is dangerous, there’s always something going on here,” the neighbor said.

“I’m ready to leave here.”
