A mother and her 6-year-old daughter were stabbed to death in their Bronx home — and the mom’s cowardly killer boyfriend committed suicide by knife before he could be brought to justice, police sources said on Sunday.

Cops discovered Gabrielle Muniz, 26, and her young daughter, Rozara, dead from multiple stab wounds inside their home on Monticello Ave. near Strang

Ave. in Edenwald about 11:55 p.m. Saturday.

“She is an amazing daughter, mother, person,” Muniz’s mother, Yanik Rocha, told the Daily News Sunday as she learned of the tragedy. “She’s got a heart of gold. She is beautiful inside and out.”

After the slayings, Muniz’s parolee boyfriend Caleb Duberry, 34, returned to the Boston Secor Houses apartment he shared with his mother on Bivona St. near Reeds Mill Lane in Eastchester and confessed to her, police sources said.

Meanwhile, Muniz’s super and a relative called police asking for a wellness check, and cops found the mother and daughter dead.

Investigators called Duberry’s mother, who had also called 911, telling cops they would find two bodies in Muniz’s apartment.

When they reached her by phone she told police her distraught son had locked himself in a bedroom inside the apartment she shared with him..

Cops found Duberry dead inside the bedroom. He had repeatedly stabbed himself in the chest, sources said.

“He probably came home, closed the door, killed himself and the mom probably sat there, not knowing what to do until detectives arrived,” a high-ranking police source said. “Nasty way to commit suicide.”

Muniz and her killer had been dating for about a year, the victim’s mother said.

Duberry had numerous arrests dating back to 2006, including weapon possession charges, assault and burglary, sources said. He was released from Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County in December 2020 after serving over six years for felony assault. He was on parole until 2026.

“I thought my daughter was going to end up dead,” the mother said.

“I saw red flags.

“I encouraged her to get out of the relationship.”

Police recovered three knives from Muniz’s apartment.

Though she had only spoken to him over the phone, Muniz’s mother described Duberry as “possessive.”

“I know that his baby mother wanted nothing to do with him,” the grieving mother said.

“That was a huge red flag to me.”
