Manhattan: Your editorial “The other doomsday” (March 2) was on target. The horror of war in Ukraine is only seconded by the threat of a warming planet. What a waste of time, money and lives spent on war when they are needed to implement climate solutions. It is easy for the average person to fall into despair but we must not. One of the most impactful things we can do on the local level is composting. Mayor Adams said he is going to cut the already small composting budget in order to save money.
