Memphis-based rapper Big Scarr died from an accidental prescription drug overdose, a family member said Friday. He was 22.

Big Scarr, whose legal name was Alexander Woods, overdosed on prescription pain pills Thursday at his girlfriend’s house in Memphis, an uncle told TMZ.

Gucci Mane, who founded the 1017 Records label to which Big Scarr was signed, took to social media to confirm the news.

“This hurt I’m a miss you @bigscarr,” Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, wrote on Instagram.

Friday confirmed to the Daily News that Scarr’s death was being investigated, “but there are no signs of foul play.”

The Memphis native was best known for 2021 s “Big Grim Reaper,” his debut mixtape that featured “SolcyBoyz 2 and “Poppin.”

Scarr’s 2019 “Make a Play” garnered more than 50,000 views on YouTube in a single week. He was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label the following year, according to hip-hop outlet XX, which in June featured him as part of the 2022 XXL Freshman class of up-and-coming young rappers.

“Who can rap to be like me? If you ask me, nobody,” he said of being included in the class. “Anybody can sound alike or anything voice-wise, but when it comes to tempo or random beats, it goes . ... If you ask me, it’s been my time, but I ain’t rushing. I ain’t forcing nothing. I’m in my own lane. I feel like whatever comes my way is a blessing.”

He last took to Instagram earlier this month, with a pinned post announcing he would serve as the special guest on Key Glock’s 2023 “Glockoma” tour.

A fellow Memphis native, Glock posted on his Instagram Story after news of Big Scarr’s death.

“Lost for words smh,” he captioned one photo, concluding with a broken heart emoji. “[It’s] deeper than rap. watched you become a f—king STAR.”

Big Scarr’s death is the third to shake the city’s rap scene of late, following the killing of Young Dolph in November 2021 and the fatal shooting of Snootie Wild, who was killed in Houston last February, FOX13 Memphis reported.
