A party with no platform but to gum up the works
LWe are in the middle of a political pissing contest. The Republicans do not want to work with each other, and the delays are handcuffing Democrats. This is an antiquated ideology. The last administration does not deserve the respect of being mentioned by name; I refer to it as the failed coup. When the former leader was on the campaign trail, he said he would drain the swamp in Washington. The public saw what would unfold, and the pandemic was the result. The election denial began to show the failed dictator’s selfish goal. We witnessed the attempted coup, unprecedented in America.
Republicans denounced this behavior for media sound bites. When the opportunity to correct police brutality comes, it’s easier to vilify innocent victims. The need for better education in urban communities is still an issue. Inflation continues to squeeze low-income families more, but Republicans want to undo the SNAP program. The opioid crisis has been an issue since President George W. Bush. Urban blight is omnipresent and gun violence is out of control.
What happened to sound, bipartisan governance? The significant issues that need attention have become secondary. The needs of the people go unattended while the battle for who will decide our fate rages on. When the infighting began, it was about who we should follow. The Republicans chose to sell their souls in the hopes of a red wave. What has become evident with the Republican Party is its willingness to lie, cheat and steal for power. When they had the chance to polish their image of America, they chose to create an aura of hatred. They continue to degenerate and diminish democracy.
