NYC Charter School Open Houses by Borough
New York City charter schools are free, public schools that are open to all children, making them some of the most accessible public schools in the city.
While charter schools accept applications throughout the year, families are encouraged to apply by April 1 for the 2023-24 school year. If there are more student applications than seats available, charter schools are required to hold lotteries to randomly select students for admission.
Parents are advised to check out and apply to multiple charter schools to improve their children’s chances of being admitted to one of these highly desirable schools.
The following pages include information from some of the area’s top charter elementary, middle, and high schools, and the NYC charter school open house schedule through March 31.
Most schools require registration for their open houses and some require proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend. Check out the NYC Charter School Center’s online calendar for more information and direct links to register for open houses.
