Kellyanne chats with prosecutors probing Trump

- BY MOLLY CRANE-NEWMAN

Ex-Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway reportedly met with Manhattan prosecutors investigating former President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Conway (bottom), one of Trump’s most loyal and longest-serving aides who managed his presidential campaign to victory, walked into the Manhattan district attorney’s office at around 2 p.m., The New York Times reported.

DA Alvin Bragg’s office declined to confirm or comment on the meeting. A lawyer for Conway did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Bragg’s criminal probe into Trump appears to be ramping up with the recent impaneling of another grand jury. The panel is believed to be hearing evidence about the hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in the leadup to the 2016 presidential election. The payout was to buy her silence about an alleged sexual tryst with Trump in 2006.

The Manhattan DA’s office has been conducting a wide-ranging investigation into Trump and his business dealings for over three years.

Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, who served federal prison time for doling out the hush money, is among those who have met with investigators. In his 2018 guilty plea, Cohen said he made the payment on Trump’s behalf and was reimbursed in installments by the ex-president and his family real estate business.

How the payback to Cohen was classified could lead to criminal charges against Trump, sources said.

Trump, who is in his third White House run, has decried the DA’s probe as a “witch hunt.”

His representatives did not respond to inquiries.
