Pimp who trafficked girls in Queens hotel gets 7 yrs.

- BY LEONARD GREENE

A man who pleaded guilty to prostituting girls at a Queens hotel was sentenced Friday to seven years behind bars, officials said.

For more than a week, Tyrone Miles and his partner Bryant Lowery locked two teenage girls in rooms at a Jamaica hotel, where they were forced to have sex with strangers in exchange for cash, according to Queens DA Melinda Katz.

Miles, 32, threatened to kill the 16-year-old if she did not comply and instructed her to tell customers at the J.F.K. Inn she was an adult, Katz said.

The pimps kept the 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl in separate rooms between June 5 and June 12 of 2020 at the motel, where they monitored the victims to prevent them from leaving, and collected all the money, Katz said.

But the younger girl managed to escape when Miles briefly left her alone, Katz said. She fled to a commercial establishment and contacted her family. Miles pleaded guilty in October.

“The defendant tormented and degraded his victims,” Katz said in a statement. “I commend these young ladies for their bravery during the course of this case. The brutal exploitation they were subjected to, and that countless others are experiencing, is why the work of my Human Trafficking Bureau is so important.”

Miles’ prison sentence will be followed by five years of probation.

Lowery, 24, pleaded guilty in October to one count of sex trafficking of a child and one count of sex trafficking. He was sentenced in November to six years in prison to be followed by five years of probation.

Both defendants will also be required to register as sex offenders.
