Reimagine What’s Possible at Farmingdale
At Farmingdale State College (FSC), located right here on Long Island, we are focused on real student outcomes. As Long Island’s first institution of public higher education and one of the largest in the SUNY system, we are a leader in applied learning.
To our students, that means gaining an abundance of relevant education opportunities, including internships, clinical training, and guided research that provide practical instruction, real-world experience, and personal growth.
We drive our communities and industries forward, applying solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
Our graduates have a real competitive advantage. They land high-paying jobs and aren’t overburdened with student debt. In fact, 62 percent of our students graduate debt-free, and 82 percent are employed six months after graduation or enrolled in graduate school. Our graduates rank in the top 2 percent nationally in early career earnings, according to CollegeNet’s Social Mobility Index.
We offer a vibrant campus experience and are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, one that celebrates multiculturalism and stands for equality. We are proud to have received two federal designations from the U.S. Department of Education: Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI). In
addition, for two years in a row, we received designation as a Higher Education Excellence and Diversity (HEED) campus. We lead by example, and our distinct identities unite us in our never-ending desire to be better.
FSC has 46 dynamic academic degree programs focused on high-demand careers in emerging fields like nutrition, big data, human/computer interaction, digital security, and spatial structure analysis. We power unique programs in aviation and wind training as a co-host to New York State’s Offshore Wind Training Institute.
We also lead with seven certificate programs and a series of micro-credential programs to meet growing demands in a variety of fields, such as hospitality management and sustainable horticulture. Our ambitions are grounded in the real world. Knowing success doesn’t happen on its
own, we support community engagement efforts through a range of activities that promote social action, faculty scholarship and service, student leadership, and community partnerships. We know that institutions of higher education lead best at the intersection of engaged scholarship, student development, and community impact. Our opportunities for civic engagement inspire students, faculty, and staff to increase and maintain a lifelong commitment to public service and advocacy.
