The last New York gallery show I saw in the flesh was Kara Walker’s smashing drawings at her longtime HQ, Sikkema Jenkins, in March. As with all galleries, this one went dark—until now, with the wonderful resumption of an amazing show of new, old, unknown, and shocking work by one of America’s greatest-ever artists.
