The Irish Repertory Theater gathers us close in its tiny downstairs studio to watch two short plays about hardscrabble peasants carving out moments of honor for themselves: John Millington Synge’s 1903 In the Shadow of the Glen and 1909 The Tinker’s Wedding. With John Keating, among the cast, it should be a master class in dramatic sympathy and human spirit.
