See Nicole Eisenman
Hauser & Wirth, 542 W. 22nd Street, through July 29.
The only word that fits the huge walk-around multimedia sculpture at the center of Nicole Eisenman’s debut at her new gallery is showstopper. Witness what looks like a lumpen artist seeming to shape a turning clay hive-form. This figure is surrounded by other bulbous works, like we’ve stepped into the shamanic studio of a golem-sculptor making art.
